Listing Your Property on the MLS
- Commission rates are 100% negotiable. However, if you want to be competitive, most real estate firms and sellers are negotiating a total commission between 5%-6%. Typically, the total commission is split evenly between the listing agent's firm and the buying agent's firm, but ultimately, the decision is made between each seller and the listing firm that they have selected.

Pre-Listing Costs

- Spending some time and money getting your home properly prepared for the market is a cost worth considering. Properties that are in better condition sell faster and for more money. The ultimate decision on how much to spend or whether to make any updates at all needs to be determined on a case by case basis weighing out the cost vs the potential return.
